The Ancient Roman’s were the complete opposite of “sexually depraved”. Having a sexual partner was highly encouraged especially among men, no matter what the age as long as they were older than 9 or 10 in most cases.
A big part of Roman culture in ancient times was partaking of pleasure without moral repercussions - they had no reason to feel guilty about committing such acts because they didn’t have a religion or a political system that told them it was wrong. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they were being sexually active with women, however. Having sex with a woman was OK but discouraged unless you were married or trying to have children.
This means sex with animals and homosexual relationships were very common especially among the nobility and military families. Mostly in the case of an older male having a younger male as a submissive sexual partner - this younger male could have been no older than 12 or 13 whereas the older male could have been decades his senior.
The Ancient Romans idolized sex and the naked human body and it was a very involved part of their culture. Though there were some regulating factors for sex in this time - many Romans were highly sexualized and very liberal with their bodies. Many of the paintings, tile art, etc that we restore from this time are of people committing sexual acts - not in a pornographic way, but in an artistic way that would have been something to be admired in Ancient Roman times.
Also your basic prostitution was very common among both genders, no matter what the social class, but women becoming prostitutes was the most common. The bath houses that the Romans are known for also provided a perfect environment for prostitution, public sex, orgies, etc. It was also highly speculated that the Roman’s had specified buildings and bath houses for sex and orgies, including your basic brothel.
