You noticed how strained the SS Officer's face is. By comparison the Jewish woman's face is calm. She has

clearly accepted her fate. Probably her life has been progressively been worse and worse to the point where

she is standing naked, waiting to be shot. She looks at peace with what is about to happen in this picture.

The guard on the other hand is clearly strained. She is actively mustering her hatred and anger to follow through on something she knows that she doesn't want to do. The SS were a cult based on rage and that guard is trying to summon all the rage necessary to pull the trigger on her calm, placid, and defenseless victim. In this picture I see a guard being traumatized and a

women about to be saved from a hellish situation.
