Clothing material was a critical war material. The clothes were collected and shredded. The fabrics were then repurposed for German military uniforms.
It was the economic policy of the Reich to exploit their victims even in death to the fullest.
There were in fact even special dental commandos for collecting the gold from tooth fillings. Nothing should go to waste.
